Regarded as one of the top non-auditioning chapel choirs in Oxford, Hertford College Chapel Choir continues the great tradition of British choral singing, under the direction of two committed organ scholars. Repertoire is broadly British, though by no means exclusively, and spans from the Renaissance greats to brand new commissions. The choir recently gave the Oxford première of Gabriel Jackson’s Requiem, as well as works by Richard Allain and Samuel Pegg. The choir aslo tours every summer and winter to destinations such as Leipzig, Barcelona and Japan, and is hoping to record a CD in the near future. Other recent highlights include performances of Mozart’s Requiem and Rachmaninoff’s All Night Vigil.

One evensong per week plus a weekly rehearsal. There is also an optional Eucharist on Wednesday.

Who can join the choir?
The choir is open to all, and includes singers from all the colleges, Brookes, and non-student members.

Additional Benefits
Dinner is provided free of charge after Sunday evensong as well as after Wednesday Eucharist for those who attend.
